1 The beech wood
Natural monuments, trails and a meeting place for parties and public events. This is Norway’s largest and the world’s most northerly beech wood. The beech wood is a people-park and is used as a meeting place, for exercise and fresh air, summer as winter. There are 80-90 registered burial mounds and the Beech wood is Vestfold’s largest burial sites from the Iron Age and is also one of the largest in the country. Read more
2 MØLEN
Mølen in Brunlanes is a part of the moraine from the ice age. With 230 burial mounds it is one of the largest burial places in Norway. Chieftains and servants were buried here under large and small stone mounds. The impressive collection and the situation out towards the sea make the ancient landscape a national treasure and one of Larvik’s most popular attractions. 10 000 years ago the glacier retreated and today you can find over 100 different types of rock. 3 Kjærra Waterfalls Park
An area of great natural beauty. Known for traditional methods used in salmonfishing, concerts and exhibitions. Situated in one of the most spectacular sceneries of Lågendalen you find the Kjærra Waterfalls Park. The Park, covering areas on both sides of the river, derives its name from the famous Kjærra Waterfalls, where the river splits into two separate courses: the eastern falls and the western falls. Here you will find the largest concentration of traditional salmon fishing equipment in Norway.
4 Coastal trail, Stavern-Helgeroa
The coastal trail is a signed trail, approx 35 km, along the coast between Stavern and Ødegården at Helgeroa. The trail wanders through ebbullient forest, over bare rocks, vegetatated inlets and wind blown points. Read more
5 Svenner
Svenner is a popular spot for everyone, especially in summer. This island, with it`s rocky piece of coastline and many nooks and crannies has a spot for everyone. Even the beachlover will find their place on this beautiful spot surrounded by sea. On clear days you can see across the Oslofjord to Sweeden. There is a lighthouse (accomadation possible) her and during the summermonths there is ferryconnection to Stavern. Read more
